Editorial Standards
Our goal is simple: publish travel information you can trust and tools that give accurate answers. These are the standards we hold ourselves to.
Accuracy
We research our destination guides, best-time advice, and recommendations carefully, drawing on established climate patterns, official published data, and documented research methods. Our calculators use transparent, documented methods — for example, the distance calculator uses the haversine formula for straight-line distance and a road circuity factor for driving estimates. Where we provide estimates, we say so.
Independence
Our recommendations reflect genuine assessment of what's useful to travelers. Affiliate relationships never determine what we recommend or how we rate something. If a product or destination isn't worth recommending, we don't recommend it.
What We Research vs What We Have Personally Experienced
Travel and Time is independently operated by a small team. Our content covers destinations and products across the globe — we do not claim to have personally visited every destination or field-tested every product we write about. Destination guides draw on official tourism data, government advisories, climate records, and published traveler reports. Gear reviews draw on verified buyer feedback, manufacturer specifications, and editorial assessment. We flag first-hand experience where we have it, and research-based where we don't. The calculators use documented mathematical methods described on each tool page.
Transparency on Affiliate Links
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you book a hotel, tour, flight, or product through them, we may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. This is how we keep our tools free to use. We disclose this clearly, and it does not influence our editorial content or recommendations.
Corrections & Updates
Travel information changes — prices shift, businesses close, and conditions evolve. We update our content periodically to keep it current. If you spot something out of date or incorrect, please let us knowand we'll review and correct it.
