Our aim is to tell you whether a product is worth your money and who it is right for — based on honest research, not fabricated first-hand testing. Here's how we approach it.
We are a research-based publication, not a physical testing lab.Our reviews are built from manufacturer specifications, thousands of verified buyer reviews on major retailers, hands-on editorial judgment about features and value, and publicly available comparison data. We do not claim to have personally field-tested every product on actual trips — when we have direct experience we say so, and when we haven't, we're transparent about that too.
What We Evaluate

Our Rating System
We rate products editorially out of 5. A rating reflects our assessment of overall quality and value for the typical traveler, drawing on the research above. We are explicit about trade-offs — every product has them — so you can judge whether a strength or weakness matters for your travel style. Each review includes an explicit "best for" note to help you decide. Ratings are our editorial opinion, not an aggregated score from collected user reviews.
