I’m Daniel Hart, the founder and editor of Travel and Time. I spent around 20 years as an aeronautical engineer in the aviation industry — that’s where my interest in flight routes, distances, and airports began, and it’s the expertise I bring to the site’s calculators and route guides, where accuracy genuinely matters.
My own travel has been mostly within India. Because my work involved frequent transfers, I spent two decades living in and exploring different parts of the country, which taught me the practical side of travel — planning routes, managing long journeys, and the realities of getting from one place to another. I’ve also travelled internationally on a shorter trip through Oman, France, and Egypt.
Travel and Time pairs that background with careful research and documented methods. I review the site’s tools and formulas for accuracy — the distance calculator, for example, uses the haversine formula with a road-circuity adjustment — and I stand behind what’s published here. Where a figure is an estimate, we say so. You can read more about our process in our editorial standards.
