How to Plan a Bali Trip Using Our Tools

A step-by-step framework for planning the perfect Bali trip

Planning a trip to Bali is exciting but involves a lot of moving parts — when to go, how to get there, how to move around the island, and how much it'll cost. This guide walks through a simple framework, using our free tools at each step.

Step 1: Pick the Right Time

Bali's dry season (April–October) is ideal. Decide your travel window first, since it affects prices and crowds, then build the rest of your plan around it. Our destination guide covers Bali's seasons in detail.

Step 2: Work Out Your Flights

Bali is a long-haul flight for most travelers. Use the flight time calculator to estimate your journey length from home to Denpasar (DPS), and factor in connections — most routes aren't direct.

Step 3: Plan Your Island Route

Bali's areas (Seminyak, Ubud, Uluwatu, the east coast) are short distances apart but slow to drive. Use the distance and driving-time tools to plan realistic transfers, and base yourself in two areas to cut down on travel. Our 7-day Bali itinerary shows how this works in practice.
